INTRODUCTION
The aim of this area is to provide cross country information particularly suited to novices, beginning to fly cross country, whether within gliding range of the club or further afield. Here are some areas to think about:
TASK WEEK
The Club holds an annual Task Week usually late in August. Our Chairman will be looking for help & support in running the field. Please contact the office and leave your details if you can help out.
WEATHER
My first recommendation is to sign up for the excellent cross country weather forecast from Lasham. These arrive by email and provide a good basis for the weather in the South of the UK and often further afield. Obviously you need to bear in mind the microclimate we have here in Kent, sea breeze fronts, etc
Lasham XC weather - fill out the form for free gliding forecast emails.

RASP
Latest Weather (Charing Heights)
Charing Forecast (Yr.No)
OTHER PILOTS
Talk to other XC pilots in the club. We're mostly a very approachable bunch and hey,we may even learn something from you!
AIRSPACE
One key area for budding XC pilots, particularly in Kent, are the restrictions that airspace places upon us. If you're a novice or visitor, it would be very beneficial to study the airspace on an upto date chart.

SkyDemon Light (free version - intended as an aid to flight planning)

These tasks are for the novice XC pilot. Local TPs & short flights starting & ending at the hangar and staying within gliding range of the airfield.
