NOTE – ONLY AVAILABLE TO SUITABLY QUALIFIED MEMBERS
We are fortunate to have instructors qualified to teach you aerobatics. You’ll need to be a confident and safe solo pilot, and have passed your Bronze exams. The ability to perform basic aerobatic manoeuvres improves confidence in the general handling of gliders and is fun even if you don’t intend to take it any further.
The syllabus will will teach you how to fly 45 degree lines, 270 degree turns, Loops, Chandrelles and Humptys. The successful demonstration of these manoeuvres flown solo will qualify for the BGA Basic Aerobatic Badge.
Courses tend to be delivered on an ad hoc basis, flying when the air is still. Instruction is free, but you’ll be towing to 3,000 ft or more and coming down quite quickly!
